SUMMARY:Beach Volleyball
DESCRIPTION:Book Club Meetups > Portsmouth Newcomers\n\nI have been wanting
to play beach volleyball all summer\, but there isn't a meetup group in th
e area hosting this type of activity. I have played Whimp Volleyball with
Steve O and absolutely loved it! I want to start a weekly beach volleyball
game in my area of Rye\, NH because traveling to Nashua\, NH is too far!
I do not have a net\, so if someone has one\, let me know. Otherwise I wil
l go out and buy one. This is not regulation volleyball\, it is just for s
ome fun and laughs. \n\nIf it rains\, obviously the game is called off. T
here is meter parking\, as well as street parking. The meters take quarter
 s. I do not know from what time to what time the meters need to be fed. I
have always parked on the street.\n\nRye\, NH 03870 - USA\n\nWednesday\,

SUMMARY:End of Summer Clambake
DESCRIPTION:Book Club Meetups > Portsmouth Newcomers\n\nPlease Read:\n\nHi
Everyone\, I've heard from a few people that they'd like to join in the pot
luck portion of this event without participating in the clambake. That's OK
with me\, so I created another event at the same location at the exact sam
e time called "End of the Summer Potluck". If you and or a guest would like
to be included in the lobster/clam count please sign up here. If you don't
want lobster and clams please signe up for the potluck. This will help me
keep track of who wants lobster and who I'll need to get money from.\n\nHow
about we end summer with a blast? And by blast I mean a good old fashioned
New England Clambake and Potluck!\n\nI've reserved the pavilion at Fort Mc
Clary in Kittery Point\, Maine. Fort McClary is just a few minutes from Por
tsmouth and has protected the Piscataqua river for 200 years. The friends o
f the fort have been slowly restoring it for years. On this beautiful histo
 ric site you'll see granite walls\, a restored blockhouse\, a rifle house t
hat has been on the site since the Civil War all overlooking the Atlantic O
cean.\n\nThe picnic area has a roofed pavilion\, many picnic tables and sta
te provided grills and resides accross the road from the fort.\n\nThe fee f
or this event is $26. For your fee you'll receive 2\, count them 2 lobsters
along with steamed clams\, drawn butter and beverages. Lobsters will be co
oked onsite so they'll be steaming hot when served. You won't find a better
deal than this anywhere.\n\nIf you and/or a guest doesn't like lobster and
clams please sign up for the potluck only event on the same day.\n\nPlease
send fee through PayPal to robert_lamothe@yahoo.com\n\nYou bring yourself\
, optional guests\, and a potluck dish to share. When you RSVP please indic
ate in your comment what you'll be bringing so that others will know what's
taken. \n\nThere is a $2pp park fee that you'll pay when you arrive that i
s seperate from the event fee. The $26 goes for lobster\, clams\, beverages
\, butter\, plates\, silverware\, cups etc. The $2 park fee goes to the Sta
te of Maine and helps support the upkeep of the park.\n\nThis is a joint ev

SUMMARY:Twilight Book Group
DESCRIPTION:Book Club Meetups > Portsmouth Newcomers\n\nThe Twilight Book C
lub meets the first Tuesday of each month from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at Hampton'
s Lane Memorial Library\, off Lafayette Rd./Rt. 1 (a minute from The Old Sa
lt restaurant). \n\nWe welcome a very open and positive atmosphere for list
ening\, sharing and fun for all. You needn't be a resident of Hampton or La
ne library member to come to the book group. \n\nOn Tuesday\, Oct. 7 at 6:3
0 PM\, the Twilight Book Club will meet to discuss Birdsong: A Novel of Lov
e and War\, by Sebastian Faulks.\n\nPublished to international critical and
popular acclaim\, this intensely romantic yet stunningly realistic novel s
pans three generations and the unimaginable gulf between the First World Wa
r and the present. As the young Englishman Stephen Wraysford passes through
a tempestuous love affair with Isabelle Azaire in France and enters the da
rk\, surreal world beneath the trenches of No Man's Land\, Sebastian Faulks
creates a world of fiction that is as tragic as A Farewell to Arms and as
sensuous as The English Patient. Crafted from the ruins of war and the inde
structibility of love\, Birdsong is a novel that will be read and marveled
 at for years to come.\n\nhttp://www.amazon.com/Birdsong-Novel-Love-Sebastia
n-Faulks/dp/0679776818\n\nFor our Nov. 4 meetup we will be discussing The T
hirteenth Tale\, by Diane Setterfield.\n\nPlease bring a recommendation for
a book\, as we'll vote on what to read for our Dec. selection.\n\nHampton\
