Hello Everyone,
Last night we met at Tiffin Wallah. The food was good and several people tried new dishes. Unfortunately, we did not sustain a good conversation about the book because the restaurant was a little noisy. So, I will ask for your help here. Several people gave excellent suggestions last night, but other suggestions are welcome. I am looking for a regular Meetup spot. The restaurant, cafe, or bar should be quiet, clean, accessible (Midtown or thereabouts), and affordable.
Whose body? was a nice change. I was pleased to see that it attracted new people. For me, and a few others, it was nice to discover a new series. For some members, the book was slow at first, but became more interesting as it progressed. We all agreed that we wanted to get to know Wimsey more though.
We also decided to change the selection process. So, from now on, we will vote on the book of the month. So, please exercise your right to vote and let me know what you think! Look for a new poll tomorrow. I will leave the poll open for a week.
Finally, here I have to get a bit stern, this particular Meetup was so popular that I extended the RSVP limit beyond the normal 10 people. Even with two more spots several people who wanted to attend could not. Yet, only seven people actually attended. The five unused spots could have gone to others. If you know you cannot make it please change your RSVP the morning of the event. I want us to continue to be a friendly and considerate community. Please be cognizant of how your actions affect others.
