Join us for discussions about an eclectic mix of fiction and non-fiction (generally not mass market paperbacks). We meet once a month - usually on a Thursday - at a cafe in Menlo Park. We are an enthusiastic bunch in our late 20's to early 40's.
The book for each month is chosen by consensus. Here are some books that we recently read:
- Sara Gruen's "Water for Elephants"
- Michael Chabon's "Final Solution"
- Diane Settenfield's "The Thirteenth Tale"
- Elizabeth Gilbert's "Eat, Pray, Love"
- Charles Mann's "1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus"
- Bill Bryson's "The Lost Continent: Travels in Small Town America"
Our group has been going strong for over two years - we moved to Meetup to ease organization and to recruit new members. We expect our members to RSVP every month and to attend most meetings. That said, our discussions are generally informal and fun.
“ Great location in Menlo Park, time to sit back and relax. Take time for yourself to meet others! ”
“ I enjoyed meeting everyone. The discussion was focused yet causal. ”
Meetup Groups meet face-to-face to pursue hobbies, network, get support, make friends, find playgroups or even change the world.
