This time we'll be going back to L'Allegria, a fine Italian restaurant a few blocks from Times Square, at the corner of 44th St & 9th Avenue, menu at http://www.lallegriar... . You can get a vegetarian pasta dish for $13, or meat pasta for $15. They also have a Prix Fixe dinner for $26.95.

The first topic will be "Six Geniuses Who Saw Their Inventions Go Terribly Wrong" http://www.cracked.co...

The second topic will be a Washington Post article about how Abu Zubaida, an Al-Qaeda terrorist who we caught within a year of 9/11 and tortured extensively, turned out to be a much smaller fish than we thought. Interesting how the title of the article describes him as a "Detainee" rather than a "Terrorist" while the article itself makes it clear he was doing everything he could to help Al-Qaeda. http://www.washington... Optional extra reading on this on the message board.

The last topic will be another Washington Post article showing that children brought up in stressful households tend to be dumber. As far as I can tell, the study only covered children raised by their biological parents. So could it be that the child's household was stressful because the parents, like the child, had genes for lower intelligence? http://www.washington...

Sorry, Sylvia, something came up and I had to postpone the meetup a couple of weeks. I sent out an email about it to everyone who had RSVP'ed "yes" or "no" to the event, you hadn't RSVP'ed yet, so you weren't informed. Next time that happens (and it won't happen often) I'll send the message to everybody.

Bill, I have to change my RSVP for April 25th to "No". I don't see it on your calendar and a little confused to the 2 dates 4/25 and 5/9. The invite I received on April 11th clearly shows April 25th for this event.
