What would you like book club to accomplish for you? To expose you to new genres? To be a place of favorites and comfort? To be a fun way to meet people with similar tastes for jovial comraderie? Or different tastes for intelligent debate?

I would like for book club to be a place of good discussion and shared interests in reading and learning. Nothing too serious but potentially thought provoking. Whether we read new titles or stick to old favorites or both doesn't matter to me.

Most recently completed title? What's in your 'to read' pile? How often do you finish a title?

Posh Moms. Wilbur Smith and a couple romance novels. It depends on how much time I have but anywhere from a day to a couple of weeks.

What are your favorite genres? Favorite authors?

Thrillers, Action/Adventure, Romance, usually there is some sort of historical component to the story. Elizabeth Peters, Steve Berry, Celeste Bradley

Are you a parent? Current occupation?

Yes, we have a two month old baby. I am a science teacher.

What title could you reread over and over again?

The India Fan, The Secret (Garwood)

  •  Thanks for the welcome. Good places to meet in Katy that I know of are Katy Budget Books, China Buffet, and Hasta la Pasta.

  •  Hi Michelle,
I'm a retired trial lawyer. I have written two fact-based fiction romance-mystery novels, Friends and Betrayals and Silent Witness to Murder.
They are available through amazon.com, most book stores, or directly from the publisher, authorhouse.com.
You can see the book covers and read summaries of my work by checking in with authorhouse.com. If you wish to contact me, I?d be pleased to discuss my books with you or your members.
    Thanks, Richard Duggan, redpjd@embarqmail.com

  •  Hi. Recently started my 1st meetup 3 mo. ago. Struggled w where to meet. Suggest a public place that won't put a financial burden on the group. For my group, approached La Madeleine's restaurant N of I-10 on Grand Parkway. They've been very accomodating - allowed us to use their private back room (we meet alt Tues nights @7PM - a slack time) - I ask attendees to buy something - if only coffee. I see there's a new tea place at Westgreen. Just some suggestions if you're looking for any.
