It was 10 years ago Columbine happened, one of those "where were you" events in American life. If you think you know the majority of the facts about the shooting, Dave Cullen's new book reveals so much more - and turns the whole tragedy into a look back at so many things: the late '90s high school culture, the New West, and foreshadowing the 2000s and 9/11 two years later. That is awesome that you guys got to talk to the author! I wasn't able to make the meetup but read the book anyway. It really hit home for me more than when it happened when I was also a senior in high school. It was upsetting but also very interesting -- I couldn't put it down. Thank you for this and all of the other great recommendations, John!

Sorry I was not able to be there, but glad I was able to give Dave Cullen's number to John - I am delighted to hear that it was a fun evening and that having Dave contribute to the discussion made it that much more memorable!

Hi John, I'm sorry you're leaving us. You've done an excellent job. Is there anyone willing to take your place? I'll be sorry if our meetup disappears. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get Columbine at the library, and I don't feel like buying the hardback. All the best-- Elizabeth

    •  Everyone there had really interesting things to say about the book. The fact that John had the phone number for the author and we got to call him during the meet up was amazing. I was impressed by that.I am glad that I decided to join this meet up.
    •  Yet, another book I would have never chosen that turned out to be great. and the added pleasure of hearing the author was super
