Those of us of a certain age will recall seeing the cover of this book all over the place, back when "comics" was trash literature read only by kids. Grownups aren't supposed to have flights of fantasy about apocalyptic end-of-the-world stuff, are they? Or maybe it's just so much fun.

    I've already seen the movie. I am an absolute movie maven, and more often than not I go to see them on the day they're released.

    • “ There are some intense ideas in there, and some good artwork, like when Dr. Manhattan is on that planet with pink sand, and all these processes are springing to life around him, structures building themselves and comets and asteroids and his belief that there is no mind or being controlling everything, it is all just happening, it seemed so miraculous. Other parts may have a cliche or contrived aspect to it, but on the whole it is intense. ”
