Film preview this Monday evening! SHSNY Movie Night this Monday evening will be a special preview of ARTICLE VI: FAITH, POLITICS, AMERICA, a movie to be released in theaters this fall
(Msg approved by Ion.) Monday, May 12, 7:00 PM, Stone Creek Inn, 140 E. 27th Street, where we have the whole back room to ourselves. Sponsored by the Secular Humanist Society of New York, this is our regular monthly Movie Night No fee or membership required. No proselytizing, (we are obviously not a religion). We always have fun on Movie Night. This is a special preview of ARTICLE VI: FAITH, POLITICS, AMERICA, a movie to be released this fall. It is a documentary on Article VI of the Constitution, particularly the statement that "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the US". Article VI of the Constitution ignites the film's exploration of the current political environment, religious bigotry, and intolerance in America. Filmmakers Hall and Donaldson criss-cross the country, interviewing religious leaders, politicians, pundits and ordinary citizens about religion and politics in America in this important film that will be released to theaters in the Fall. Sponsored by shsny.org. For a preview. go to http://www.article6th... There's no room-rental charge at the Stone Creek Lounge, but bar management wants us each to spend the equivalent of a "one drink minimum." (This is not exactly enforced. Those of us who eat make up for anyone who doesn?t want to order anything.) A few bucks in the SHSNY kitty would be nice (but not obligatory), too. Check out the food menu and prices (lots of inexpensive "bar platter" choices) at www.stonecreeknyc.com. Learn more here: http://humanism.meetu... |
