About The Houston Central Market Book Club
We are a book club that is free and open to the public. Attendance ranges from 10 to 20 members per meeting. We read serious literature for the ideas and not just for entertainment (which we do happen to experience also, especially at the discussions).
So if you like to read great books that are either classics or that have won prestigious literary awards (Pulitzer, Booker, Nobel), then you likely will enjoy discussing ideas with us.
If you're not sure, you can give us a try. Everyone is welcome. If you want to participate in the discussion, we ask that you read the book but there is not requirement to read the book if you just want to come by and listen.
