I am glad that Alex takes 3 hour naps so that I can get rest or get things done. We had so much fun playing at home this morning. I dragged him around the house on a blanket. We sang songs, played the drums with markers and a metal box, read books, and played with his toys.

I am so excited that the moms in my meetup group are using the message boards to get to know each other and are attending/planning to attend events. I have developed a couple of friendships and everyone seems to be getting along well.

It is a beautiful sunny day today and I feel great!

Thanks, Kerry. That gave me a smile. Childhood is so blissful. What a wonderful thing to appreciate every day. laughing

I am glad that I have a great family and that my mother is able to take Alex for the day when I need a day off from mommyhood.

I got to spend 2 hours with 2 of my meetup playgroup friends, sharing lunch and lots of fun stories while Mom watched Alex. (My meetup group drives me crazy because it's the same few people who keep showing up for everything. However, I can't complain because the people who show up are wonderful and I've made some really good friends). I asked one of them today if were too clique-y and maybe some people feel excluded. She said "We're not clique-y, we just click." She's right and it's so nice to find such easy friendships with people at the same lifestage as ourselves.

After our Mexican fiesta, I shopped at Costco (one of my favorite places) and Babies R Us. Now I'm home, cooking a chicken pot pie from Costco. HUGE and delicious - it'll feed the 3 of us for 2 days. Alex has been with Grandma for 10 hours and I am peaceful and relaxed.

The best part is I haven't cleaned anything since last night, although I threw in some laundry. No little 2 year old was here to mess up the house.smile

Wow, what a nice mini-break. A little change of pace is always something to be glad about. :) -- Sheila
