Often times, we see or hear something that just makes us smile. It could be a film, an image, a song, or even a word. I receive the Oxford Word of the day, and today's is one I'd like to share:

laetificant [lit-TIFF-i-kunt] a rare adjective meaning 'antidepressant, cheering'. Usually used about medicine.

As in "Eleanor Porter's laetificant book, Pollyanna, is just what the doctor ordered for an old grump like me." wink

Discovering new and obscure words is fun for me. Fun things can make me laugh, and since laughter the best medicine, I feel Laetificant covers it quite well.

This word comes from Erin McKean's Weird and Wonderful Words:
http://www.oup.co.uk/...

And you can sign up for the word of the day at AskOxford: http://www.askoxford....

It's a great source of words that make you laugh, or just go hmmm.

And please excuse the plug for Oxford. I just love the resource.

How about "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." According to the song, it will change your life.
