I really enjoyed the few meetups I attended before this group stopped the monthly meetup. Sorry that it doesn't seem to have any legs to continue running on. Anybody got any ideas / suggestions to see if we could start again anytime in the future? By the way, organizer Tycha...how much is the group costing you? And why is it still a group if we're not gonna be able to actually meetup?

A great opportunity to meet other like minded people who enjoy reading history, politics, or unusual topics to discuss.

I enjoyed the discussion. The group was intelligent and respectful of different ideas. Here is a link to my video on Multiple Tier Capitalism which I discussed at the meeting. Alan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phhbQbKj77I&feature=channel

I find people engage what you are saying, listen, and welcome your viewpoint. Non-fiction doesn't mean everyone sees things the same way, or the way the author put forth their perception.

The more people the more diverse the ideas and the more suggestions for books to read.

It's great to have a group which suggests quality non-fiction books to read and the chance to discuss the books with others.

The Group has a history of chosing interesting books, which was why I wanted to attend. The focus is on books written by academics, but in a popular "thinking-person's best-seller" style. Economics, history and sociology have been the most important.

  •  Ron dominating the group with his social darwinism. I had trouble participating. Some ideas seemed to threaten group members, especially involving doctors in health education. I don't think having a brother in medical school is the answer to the question. No point in commenting more except the idea that people will return to the farm is a little ridiculous.

  •  Two suggestions - camera for pictures to load up to the website and name tags so we know whose talking and would help remember people especially if your trying to make friends...
