Join us for our the book club's first ever mystery: The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. Expect gothic mystery/suspense, along the lines of Daphne Du Maurier, the Brontes, or Henry James' Turn of the Screw. Here's a description from Amazon - "a masterful, deliberately old-fashioned story of secrets, ghosts, sexual obsession, murder, madness..."

This book has really drawn me in. I think, like Margaret, I am getting lost in the story! The twists and turns keep the reader alert. I think the comparisons with Du Maurier, James, and the Brontes are apt.

Wow. This is a very interesting book. Isabella is Odd. Actually, all the Angelfields are odd. I am dying to know - Who fathered the twins?

Who attended?

    •  Fun group with lots of insight on an ok book.
    •  Good discussion and diverse and interesting opinions.
    •  Great discussion! Good turnout. Hope I can make it again next month.
    •  My first ever Book Club Meeting and I really enjoyed it. It was useful to hear the thoughts of other people on the bbok and helped me understand or recognise things which I had missed
