Well, the November meeting was fun, and exciting as usual . . . and we picked a book for January! Everyone should have tons of time to read this one, and if not, well . . . there's a movie to discuss as well. We have chosen "Push" by Sapphire. This is also the book that the movie "Precious" is based upon. Here is what Wikipedia has to say:
Push is the 1996 debut novel of American author Sapphire. Read more

What members are saying

The serious fiction group has wonderful, varied discussions and the group is small enough that you can have a voice. I have been exposed to some great books that I would never have read otherwise.

“Despite spending an inordinate amount of time reading, I find I miss how much more robust a novel can be when it's not just your own perspective taking it in. I was hoping a club might expose me to a bit more depth and variation.”

“I would love to join this group because I'm not only an avid reader, but I'm also fairly new to Arizona. My husband, daughter, and I moved to Gilbert this past May, and it's been rather slow in meeting new people.”
