Hi Folks

For the November/December meetup we'll read "The girl with the dragon tattoo" by Stieg Larsson and Reg Keeland. Because these two months are busy with all the holidays, we usually only have 1 meetup in early Dec.

As always, we'll be meeting in the front room of Paneras in Latham farms.

We'll choose the Jan and Feb books at the Dec meetup, so please email me some suggestions ahead of time so I can check them out.

Hi Folks

The book for October will be "Perfect Family" by Pam Lewis. A nice murder mystery to go with Halloween.

For the November/December meetup we'll read "The girl with the dragon tattoo" by Stieg Larsson and Reg Keeland. Because these two months are busy with all the holidays, we usually only have 1 meetup in early Dec. I'm tentatively saying Dec 7, but I'll have to double check my calendar and make sure the room at panera's is available.

As always, we'll be meeting in the front room of Paneras in Latham farms.

Important change!!!! Please Read!!!

I made an error last month. The original choice for September (The Help) is only available in hardback and most of the library copies are checked out because it's become a NYT best seller. We discussed this at the current meetup and decided to push back this book until the hype dies down and we can get some library copies.

So the book for September will now be "The Namesake" by Jhumpa Lahiri.

I will set up a poll in the next few days for the October book.

As mentioned before, all donations given at august and september meetup will go towards the Alzheimer's Association annual fundraiser.

For August we'll be reading "Never Let Me Go" by Kazuo Ishiguro.

We'll meet again at the Panera's in Latham Farms. I reserved the front room (on your left as you enter) for us.

At the last meetup, the group decided on "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett for the September book. So if you're looking ahead, that's where we will be going next.

As you come up with ideas for future books, let me know. And if you hear of any interesting authors coming to town, let me know too. This would be a great forum to publicize it.

Update!!! We're moving to a new location. We've had problems with Mocha Lisa's being too crowded or too noisy. I've reserved the "front room" at the Paneras in Latham Farms Shopping area. It's right off of Exit 6 on I-87, or off of Rt 9. It's in the part of Latham Farms closest to I-87 (near petsmart).

For the February meetup, we'll be reading "The Tipping Point " by Malcolm Gladwell. There are a number of library copies and it should be available from most bookstores.
