Hey! One of the members asked me about a couple of the sites I recommended for books, so I thought I would share them with everyone, if you're interested.

My favorite place is Readerville. http://www.readervill...
On the site, there is a web log, a journal, a users' forum, and Note:Books, which is similar to Good Reads in a way. My favorite place is the forum. You can read the posts as a guest, or you can sign in (it's free) and join in all the discussions. The best places to get book recommendations are the "Best Books" and "What's That You're Reading" threads. But feel free to look around and join in anywhere. There are threads for all kinds of books, for games, for movies, for the radio....just about anything regarding books you can think of! (I'm on there as "Julie", so feel free to say hello! I've been on the site for about 9 years, so most of the people know me there.) They can be intimidating, but don't be scared! Once they know you're a book lover, they welcome you with open arms!

Another site that is similar, but much smaller (it was an offshoot of Readerville) is Book Balloon. http://www.bookballoo...
It is strictly a forum site, to talk about books. They also have a book group that discusses one book a month. There are threads to talk about just about anything, and they're very friendly. Don't be intimidated.

Places you might like to keep track of your own books or what you're reading, or what you want to read: try Good Reads www.goodreads.com and Library Thing www.librarything.com
I'm on all of these sites either as Julie (in Euless, TX) or as JulieCarter, so feel free to "add as friend" or ask me questions! There's nothing I love more than talking about books!

Julie, are we going to have to have an intervention?!? ;-)

Just kidding. Thanks so much for the site recommendations! I'm having trouble just keeping GoodReads updated right now but I'll get there.

We did "Shadow Of The Wind" in the Dallas book club tonight. It was a good one!

The search for people on GoodReads isn't very user friendly so here is a link to my profile in case anyone wants to add me as a friend:

Julie, I put in the zip for Euless and you didn't show up in the results.

For those that haven't visited GoodReads yet, it's a great site for keeping track of what books you've read, when you read them, what you rated them, and any comments that you might have. You can link to other people and follow their updates and that's a good way to find out about other books.

Bwahahaha. My evil plan is working!

Damon (and anyone else on Good Reads), try this link: http://www.goodreads....
Hopefully that'll work. I may not be quite up to date. I don't have anything near all of my books on there. About 5% maybe. One of these days I'll catch up.
