This will be my first meeting. I am really excited to discuss this book. I am almost done with it, and so far I think it's really good. I hope all ends well!

I hope I'm not the only one who didn't like this book - okay, who hated this book. Please someone tell me I'm not alone :) There is strength in numbers after all :)

Sorry I can't meet. I have to work on the 4th. Since I'm new to the club how do I get a list of the books to read, or which is the next book to be selected? Can anyone help me out?

I enjoyed this book so much that I finished it already!

If anyone who starts reading this book can give me some feedback I would appreciate it. I don't think I will be able to handle the animal cruelty that will be in this book. It will devastate me to read too much of that. If anyone can give me some idea of how much there is & how graphic it is before the meetup, I would appreciate it. I RSVP'D no but I'm sort of on the fence about it. I would like any feedback I can get. Thanks so much!

Who attended?

    •  I have only been two meetings so far but last time we broke up to 3 groups of 10 or so and I thought it worked much better. This meeting not everyone could hear and it was hard to contribute because of the size of the group.
    •  Good meeting, everyone had input. Met new people. Just wish the seating was better so we could hear everyone.
    •  I had a hard time hearing and connecting with everyone at the meeting due to the setup. Perhaps next time we could put the tables into one big square to make it easier to see and hear and include all members.
    •  Very interesting discussion. I was afraid that everybody would like the book except me but, thankfully , that didn't happen. It is nice that we can disagree & still have a civil, engaging discussion. A good group of people.
    •  good discussion, but too big a group
    •  I enjoyed the meeting. I talk a lot, but there were some people who never said anything. Perhaps we should go around the table and introduce ourselves at the start of the meeting, and at the end of the meeting, we should go around the table seeking a final comment from each person. The meeting was rather short: 50 minutes. (Perhaps people did not think there was much more to say about the book.) People lingered, as if desiring more chance to get to know one another. The tables need to be configured in a way that everyone is in eye contact. If necessary, a larger group can be split into two meetings. It did not seem that we were expected to purchase food, but it might be nice to have some eating/socializing before and/or after the meeting.
