February, a time for Presidents, Groundhogs and Valentines. Join me at Mercury Cafe on February 8th. We will be discussing "The Defining Moment: FDR's Hundred Days and the Triumph of Hope" by Jonathan Alter. Rosa has selected this book and thinks it is a fitting topic for our times. We will be meeting at 3:00 pm so don't be late.

We are meeting on February 8th because Super Bowl Sunday is on the 1st and I don't want to compete with that!

See you soon.

How/where do I vote for my four book choices? Thanks, Helen

Who attended?

  • 22 attendees
    •  Although most attendees had finished the book, the discussion around the table was very enjoyable and instructive. Members are well read and well versed in so many different ways, excellent!
    •  Really interesting book and a lot of parallels with today's situation. I enjoyed both the discussion and the informal conversations afterwards. The group gave me a lot to think about.
    •  The book was pretty good and most of the people read most of the book... :) I think maybe a different table arrangement would be nice so that we could use 'inside voices.' I enjoyed hearing some other points of view on the period.
