Please cast your vote for our upcoming book discussions. The "winning" book will be selected for our December meeting (12/9/09) and if there is a clear runner-up, we will use that for Jan. Summaries are in the 'Files' section. I have only really had 2 suggestions. Please feel free to suggest a book! It makes things easy for me! The other 2 books are from authors that will be in the area soon: Eric Weiner will be speaking December 1st at the Mondavi Center, and Abraham Verghese will be speaking at The Crest Theater February 11, as part of the California Lecture series.

(In March, we'll be reading Long Way Gone: a Story of Redemption and Hope by Ishmael Beah for anyone who is planning to attend the UC Davis event with that author.) Which book would you like to read for December? (And possibly January, depending on the results...) There is a document in the Files section of the site called "Book Suggestions Fall 2008" with summaries for each of these.

There were two books tied with 5 votes each from the poll where we chose We Need to Talk About Kevin. Do you want to use one of them for October, or choose a new book entirely?

Summaries for these books are included in the "Book suggestions summer 2008" document under Files. Depending on the number of votes, the runner-up may be used for the September meeting.
