--------------------------------------------- END OF UPDATE ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Come and hear popular Glasgow author Anne Donovan read from her new novel 'Being Emily' and talk about her writing. Like her much-loved first novel 'Buddha Da', 'Being Emily' is set in Glasgow and written in the Glasgow idiom. The title comes from the narrator of the story, Fiona, who has decided at an early age to model herself on Emily Bronte!
Copies of the book will be on sale and Anne will be happy to sign them.
It is being held in the Burns Room at the Mitchell Theatre, between 7 and 8pm, tickets priced £5 are available from The Mitchell Granville Street Enquiry Desk - Phone 0141 287 2999.
Because Buddha Da was such a favorite with book groups around Glasgow, the Mitchell are offering a special ticket price of £3 to all book group members. I still have to get further information on this deal, to see whether it is conditional on making some kind of block booking. So if you are interested, register your interest and I'll update later with further details.
