Introduction: I am a book lover since the age of four. Not being allowed to read at the table as a child, I'd read the condiment labels. If I forgot to bring a book when I was on a bus, I'd read the ticket. Do I need help? I am now 60 and maybe it's too late.
We all have a Favourite Book, what's yours?: As an avid and compulsive reader all my life that is a very difficult question to answer. I may have to say "The Remains of the Day" for it's understated and brilliant portrayal of a repressed individual. I also delight in Pride and Prejudice"
We all have a Favourite Book, but we want to know about the book you couldn't STAND! Give us the skinny on the book that you couldn't read, or read, hating every single page:: I cannot bear mangling of the English language, so any book which has poor grammar and pitiful syntax, I could not read. I also have to confess a dislike for Dickens and tried (and failed) numerous times to read "Great Expectations"
