Additional information: "I teach Greek/Roman mythology in Cambridge to adults, am currently in a progressive political book group, and on my own, read mostly Victorian and historical novels, science fiction and at the moment, quantum psychology. I've authored four books."

Introduction: I spent years reading and teaching Greek and Roman classics and am now reading Victorian novels - the Brontes, George Eliot (I loved Romola), Elizabeth Gaskell, Thomas Hardy. I just now started the Annotated Pride and Prejudice (Austen).
Best excuse for not reading a classic book: I have no excuse other than work, dinner with friends, and in the summer, swimming at Walden Pond. I read (or watch film versions books) whenever I have free time. For 40 years I've fulfilled my commitment of reading at least one book a week.
Classic book you want to read but haven't yet: More Victorian novels especially by women writers. I haven't read Trollope yet and may try him also.
