This month's selection from the 1001 Books list is "All Quiet on the Western Front" by Erich Maria Remarque. Written in 1929, the book is considered a classic of antiwar literature. Should make for an interesting discussion. Ideas for future selections are welcome.

I am about half way through this book & I think it is wonderful. Thank you to whoever chose this novel.I just finished reading a book for another book club, Water for Elephants, & I thought that was complete garbage. It is so nice to read such a good book after that terrible read. It reminds me that there are writers out there who can actually write & deserve to be called authors. I can't wait to discuss this book.

Who attended?

    •  Great book, great discussion.
    •  Great group of people with exceptional insight. No one was made to feel uncomfortable with superiority complexes, which can happen in some groups I've attended. A wonderful way to spend a Sunday, leaving one with anticipation of the next discussion. Well done Mindy, kudo's!! Linda
