The Global Sense Meetup is uniting this month with the Denver Book Club Meetup to discuss the DBC's selection for May, The Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals, a book by Michael Pollan.

According to Wikipedia, "Pollan explores the question 'What should we have for dinner?' To answer this question, he follows four meals, each derived through a different food-production system, from their origins to the plate. Along the way, Pollan examines the ethical, political, and ecological factors that are intertwined in the industrial, large-scale organic, small-scale organic, and personal (hunted-gathered) food chains, while describing the environmental and health consequences that result from our food choices within these chains."

You can find The Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals at most libraries and used book stores. Of course, the author naturally will thank you for buying his book new.

OUR MEETUP LOCATION:
The Denver Press Club, the oldest continuously operating press club in North America, is at 1330 Glenarm Place (across from the Denver Athletic Club).

Parking:
There are a few spaces behind the building in the alley and a few more angle-in spaces on the north side of the building between the Press Club and the Colorado Press Association (free after 5 PM). If these are full, there are on-street parking meters and parking lots on each corner of the block (avoid the monthly parking spaces next to the building, however). The parking lot on the south corner is less expensive than the parking lot on the north corner.

NEXT MEETING:
We still need a good, quiet venue for regular monthly gatherings on the second Monday of each month. The location needs to be in or near central Denver because we have members all around the metro area. if you have a suggestion, please post it to our group mailing list (mailto:bookclub-849-announce@meetup.com) or send an email to the Global Sense Meetup organizer Judah Freed (http://bookclub.meetu....

Please RSVP at http://bookclub.meetu....

SEE YOU on Thursday, May 22!
