Introduction: I love reading, and also love eating pretty much anything (except meat or seafood). I love traveling and learning about other cultures so I think the books this group reads will be of special interest to me. I look forward to meeting everyone.
Tell the group something about yourself.: I work for an organization that runs various international exchange programs, and my job requires a bit of travel both domestically and itnationally, so this group is of special interest to me.
Tell the group something about your reading habits, what type of books you typically read, what are you reading now, how many books do you read each month.: I like to read fiction, books on spirituality and religion, and books on sociology. Right now I am reading Water for Elephants and The Bone People. I typically read between 2-5 books per month.
What is your favorite book (or books if you love too many to decide), and why?: The Color Purple is one of my big favorites - I think Alice Walker is an amazing story-teller. I thought The Spirit Catches You and You Fall down was very interesting and enlightening. And I read and re-read Anne Lamott's Plan B.
