Introduction
I love to read and have been looking for a new reading group for awhile.
Tell the group something about yourself.

I have been reading since I was a child. I used to read with a flashlight under the covers after bedtime. Now I use the flashlight above the covers. :)

Tell the group something about your reading habits, what type of books you typically read, what are you reading now, how many books do you read each month.

I read primarily fiction and but some non-fiction. I have a habit of reading my way through a country/region until I feel that I undertand it. Right now I am fascintated with the middle east. I read 1-4 books each month depending on how busy I am.

What is your favorite book (or books if you love too many to decide), and why?

I have a few: The God of Small Things, Arundati Roy (amazing playful writing style), The Blue Mountain Meir Shalev (also great writing, Israeli magical realism), The House of Spirits (Isabelle Allende), Corelle's Mandolin and Birds Without Wings...

  •  Hi Lisa! Amazingly, I have recently read Arundati Roy's The God of Small Things, as well, and I love it. I am also into cultural fiction =). Hopefully they'll be a spot in the meetup in the future!
