Are you looking for a book club that reads and discusses classic fiction novels ONLY and meets in the LA San Fernando Valley area? You found it!

In March 2008, we will meet to discuss:

An American Tragedy by Theodore Dreisler (approximately 884 pages)

We will be meeting at Starbucks in the LaReina Plaza shopping center in the city of Sherman Oaks at 14622 Ventura Blvd. #116 Sherman Oaks, California 91403. There is a Pomodoro restaurant adjacent to the Starbucks. The cross streets are Cedros and Ventura Blvd. The LaReina shopping center diagonal from Borders Book store. This Starbucks tends not to be crowded and there is ample patio seating right outside the door.

There is gated two-level parking on Cedros Avenue behind the shopping center. For parking, turn right onto Cedros and then make an immediate right into the entrance for the parking structure. Once in the structure, turn left and drive down the ramp to the lower parking level to find a parking space. Starbucks will validate parking with purchase.

Click "About Us" on our Meetup page for more information about the club.

We are open to people of all ages and walks of life who enjoy reading and discussing classic fiction novels.

We will discuss the novel's meaty literary themes and make time for extemporaneous musings in which themes can be compared and contrasted to current events.

Come join us!

    •  Thanks for organizing this wonderful Meetup, Ilayna. I had a wonderful time discussing the drive for material wealth in American society, the classes and society in general. "An American Tragedy" = a great read!
