Introduction: I'm a cartographer by trade. I used to read a lot in high school, mostly fantasy, but I realized I had to give that up in college or my grades would suffer. Somehow, never got back into it, but I should.
Do you devour your books, read them, or just wait for osmosis to kick in?: I used to devour, but now I wait of osmosis. Part of the problem is that I quit "living" until a book is finished. Books will also sometime induce insomnia.
How often do you typically read books?: Not often anymore...
Where do you get your inspiration to read/try a new author?: I browse book stores, write down books that look interesting, and then try to get it at the library. An interesting cover with a good summary will be what makes it on the list. In recent years, I've also gravitated more towards women authors.
Who are your favorite authors?: James Clemens blows my mind for his intricate plots. As a teenager, I liked Lloyd Alexander and Robin McKinley. I recently found John Moore, who writes goofy yet witty fantasy satires that are easy to read.
