Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson is an inspiring account of one man's campaign to build over 50 schools, mostly for girls, in remote Taliban-infested Afghanistan, Pakistan and other dangerous, anti-American nations in Asia. Publishers Weekly said "captivating and suspenseful, with engrossing accounts of both hostilities and unlikely friendships, this book will win many readers' hearts." This is a joint meeting with the Turkish Coffee group, and we are meeting at this recommended Afghani restaurant which is on 2nd Ave. Any questions/comments/concerns feel free to e-mail me...

Initially wasn't interested in reading this book but now glad I did. Enjoyed it very much. In response to a previous post about the author, there is information about how the book came about in the Introduction and also the Acknowledgments at the end. The author spent two years writing the book and visited Pakistan / Afghanistan three times during that time.
