Alphabet Soup: parents talk books while their kids eat them!
|
Let's work our brains while our little ones play! We'll read one piece of literature a month and convene to chat about it for at least a few minutes while our babies/tots play. No penalties for occasional reading by osmosis. Please check the calendar as we are now posting books and meeting dates two months out. Also, please post fictional book ideas under "messages" and then check the polls section to see if we are voting on a new book. Scheduling this group was getting tough; sometimes we had only a few members and then we were overwhelmed with turnout. The cap per meeting is now 7 moms. I'm trying to mix up the times so that all can participate, if not every month. Lastly, if you are willing to host, please let me know.

Our next meeting:
Pulitzer next: The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz
Per the group poll, we'll read: The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz. It recently won a Pulitzer and you may have heard the author's interview on Fresh Air.
Trying to find a time for the moms in this group to meet is a bit like trying to corral a bunch of toddlers. So, I picked a date far enough out that hopefully people can fit it in. Read more
