We decided to combine two of our favorite activities--reading books and watching documentaries--to form a new fun book club for women in their mid 20s and 30s. Each month we will read a book and meet at a restaurant related to the setting of the book to discuss. Within the month, we will also watch a documentary related to some aspect of the book (e.g. culture, country, religion, etc.). We are excited to get this group started and to meet lots of fun new people!! A few ground rules for our gr …

Sick Minds is not your traditional/original book club. No romance novels, best sellers, Oprah's list or tear jerking books allowed. This book club will be reading bizarre and entertaining books that are also humorous and sometimes considered disturbing to the common folk. Death: A Life by George Pendle is one example. It is a humor book written in a memoir style about Death. One of my sons helped me name the group after I was trying to define a sick mind. He actually did something sick that I …

This group was created to bring together individuals who read books for substance and ideas. This group is open to artists, musicians, scientists, engineers, and anyone who likes to examine and exchange ideas, respect others' opinions, and is open to learning something from others. We find we get together to discuss what might otherwise be serious topics, but we end up laughing a lot, because it's such a joy to express ourselves and share our ideas...and go off topic now and then. We currently h …

… The model is to attend the meeting, meet like-minded people, get the book we are reading, discuss the previous book's topics, lessons, or tools. We all have lives so we read one book per two months. We meet once per month to discuss the topic. Any and all questions. Feel free to ask.

Come join a fun and diverse group of HB and surrounding area locals to discuss group-selected books. We've got great view point, age, and profession diversity. We could use more gender diversity though! Newcomers are always welcome. Check out the message board to see what kind of books we read.
The idea of this group is to establish a community of writers that can learn from eachother on many different levels. Whether this is through critique groups, free writing, reading, talking, etc. I hope that this group has something for everyone. This group welcomes writers of all levels. This is based on the philosophy that we never really stop learning. No matter your walk of life, we all have some knowledge to barter. Or pilfer, as book bandits do (no stealing or plagerism is insinuated w …
Come and join us for a lively and insightful discussion and meditation on the Tao Te Ching, the 2800 year old book that is a manual on the art of living with happiness and ease in the perfect flow of the present moment. These powerful teachings point the way to live in harmony with the way things are, and go beyond the habitual suffering created by our minds. Many spiritual teachers, ranging from Eckhart Tolle to Adyashanti, have called the Tao Te Ching the most essential teaching on the spiritu …

As a Bob Proctor LifeSuccess Consultant, I am conducting MasterMind Study Group on "Think and Grow Rich", a masterpiece book by Napoleon Hill. Reading this book alone is very rewarding process. But to study the book in conjunction with a study guide prepared by Bob Proctor (someone who has been reading the book for nearly 50 years and is currently one of the highest paid coaches in the world) is quite another. The book is every bit as valid today as it was 75 years ago. The comprehensive p …

We will take turns choosing the month's book based on the first members to sign up. The monthly meeting place will also be determined by the member whose turn it is to choose the book. They can choose both book and location based on convenience, relevance, or any other whim that interests them. Snacks and drinks are not off limits …
