Meet kindred book lovers in a stimulating, coed book club! This book club already existed and has members, but we'd like to have new members join and we have continued doing so throughout the time the book club has existed- new blood and thoughts help make the book club even more interesting and diverse. The age range of the group is between the late twenties to the late 40s and one must fill out the form (I know it's a pain) and be selected by the group to join. We meet on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. …

We lean towards literary fiction and, to keep it interesting, we'll throw in a classic or two. Check us out! Membership Requirements: 1. Pay your membership dues $10.00. The annual memb …

Hey there. I'm hoping this book club will fill a gap that's missing in the local book club scene. I really enjoy reading books that are engaging and leave me feeling like I've learned something. I also really enjoy books that help me understand other people and where they are coming from. So I started this book club, which I've named 'People, Places, and Perspectives.' People - personal stories, psychology, sociology, anthropology Places - geography, culture, urban planning Perspectives - how ot …
This is just not another tiresome meetup book club that follows some predictable path well trod by about a million other meetup groups. First, we aim to energize your reading life by presenting a rich menu of unexpected offerings rather than a boring genre-specific diet. We will read delightful fables, profound novels about every aspect of the human condition, comedies, plays, thoughtful (but accessible) works of philosophy, as well as a variety of serious political, social and cultural medita …

We meet monthly for book discussions in downtown DC and the surrounding suburbs. Organizers select a theme for the month, email a poll of 4-5 books in that theme, and we read the book that gets the most votes. Our discussions are inclusive, reflective and fairly light-hearted. We welcome members who are interested in reading a variety of books and who want to hear the diverse insights and perspectives of others, as well as share their own. We ask that our members be courteous in that they mainta …

There are many people out there who gravitate towards non-fiction. This group will meet about once every 6-8 weeks to discuss a non-fiction book. It's the MOSTLY non-fiction book club because once in a while, I feel like a little fiction.
This is the group for people who have shelves of books that your friends haven't read-- or have no interest in reading :) I'm sure there are kindred spirits out there who love well-written biographies, books about African American history, social issues or themes relevant to the Black community. So...if you sometimes schlep to Politics and Prose, hop a train to the Harlem Book Fair (or want to), search for interesting used book stores online (I can't be the only one) or wait every year for the N …

This is a group for gals in their 30s and 40s who live in The Commons of McLean area and like to read fiction. There are a lot of transplants in this area and a book club is a great way to get to know your neighbors. It's a pretty relaxed group, so come ready to socialize, meet your neighbors and chat a little about a fiction book. We are not confined to any genre and will take suggestions from members for the next book of the month. Books will be classics ("To Kill a Mockingbird") or newish ("T …
