We are a smaller book club that meets monthly. We read fiction and non-fiction and have vegetarian-friendly dinners at meetings. Our members come from all walks of life. The things we have in common are that we like to read, have thoughtful discussions, and eat! It's OK to come to the meetings even if you didn't like the book or couldn't finish the book. Also, you don't have to be vegetarian to join, and this group is NOT designed as a forum for reading/discussing books about vegetarianism.

Open to anyone who's interested, we invite members to suggest and vote on reads and hopefully discover some new favorites along the way.

I teach M-Th and have many family obligations evenings and weekends. I would love to meet up with folks for a morning book club. We'll meet one Friday morning a month at an East Cobb restaurant for brunch and a book chat. Titles a bit more sophisticated than Harlequin Romances (not that there's anything wrong with that!) but not so complex and "heady" that your brain has to hurt while reading it. Members will be encouraged to take turns selecting books and restaurants.

Sometimes being a geek girl is a lonely experience. It's hard connect with other women when their staring at you funny because you're trying to explain your theory that the nature of a child's mutation stems partially from genetics as seen in Polaris and Magneto, but mostly from some sort of trauma before puberty, the time in which most mutants first exhibit abilities. Ex: Nightcrawler wanted to disappear because of his demonic appearance and he did. You flashed 'em a little bit of your geek and …

I started this meetup group to combine two things.. Dancing and as a social group for freethinkers.. This meetup piggybacks on a dance meetup, so most people there will be dancers. "Freethinker" is an umbrella term for atheists, agnostics, as well as the occasional Buddhist or deist, classical freethinker (like the American Founders), and many Unitarians. It is the fundies who should be singled out (not freethinkers), so I would rater have a freethinker meetup, rather than an atheist meetup.. B …
