We are a African American book club that has been around since 2008. We are more than your average book club we are a social book club, meaning we are first and foremost a book club but we enjoy our sisterhood/bonding time with things like our annual trip, family day, christmas party, commiunity service and other social events. We are a fun group of ladies and we each offer something different and we are looking for other great ladies to add to our special blend of chocolate.
After belonging to other reading groups with much younger members I have come to realize that my life experiences and theirs are vastly different. Being separated by several generations means you will have a very different take on the books you read. That would be fine if the younger people were open-minded enough to consider that I may know what I'm talking about when discussing housewives from the 50's. After all, my mother was one of them. But they did not do that. They simply fed me the pa …

We are a group looking for the older lovers of this genre. As exciting as it sounds to sit around with a bunch of high school students or younger to talk about these books...I'm kidding. These books are a guilty pleasure for us for whatever reason. Whether we are getting lost in Jennifer Armentrout's cover models …

I am going to limit the size of the group to around 12 - 15 ladies, so join fast!
