Hello and Welcome to the Red Line Book Club! (Formerly the Davis Square Book Club). "A book is like a garden carried in the pocket." This is a club where friendly interesting people meet to discuss the books we have all read together. If there is a general theme to the books we read, it's that we read "great" books: enduring classics and new books with lots of potential. You have the entire rest of the world with whom you can discuss Stieg Larsson; here we try to dig at least a little deeper. F …
Hi,
Our first meeting was on April 16, 2008 to discuss Eckhart Tolle's "A New Earth" at Borders in Shrewsbury, MA. We followed Oprah and Eckhart's "Web Event". After completing "A New Earth",
we decided to get together once a month to read and discuss a new book.
We suggest books and vote for "the book of the month" together at the end of each meeting.
The List of Books Discussed in 2008:

April - "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle

V.C. Andrews Book Club, anyone? As a teenager, her books both fascinated and frightened me; Andrews' stories read like horrific fairytales, gritty with no happy endings. While today's YA fiction focuses largely on dystopian societies, Andrews explored taboo subjects of our own society (and quite possibly, of her own strange mind). I think it would interesting to read her books again, in my late twenties, and see if they are still as scandalous and as much of a guilty pleasure as my 12 year old s …

My Goal: Is to maintain a book club for men and women who enjoy reading but also want to socialize too, so we will go 'beyond the book' and discuss what we read and more! Please be active within your group, it takes a 'village to maintain a great group'. We will do mostly fiction and some non-fiction too (always open to some majority sugg …
I’m trying to set up a book club. Here’s the criteria: (1) gay men (2) in the Boston area (3) reading fiction (4) and meeting every month or so. I used to be in a book club in the suburbs, with my wife and three other couples. But in 2010, when I came out … I got kicked out! Now I want to start up a new group. Rather than a large group with people participating some times and not others, it would be a small group, maybe 8-10 guys, who are committed to doing the reading and showing up each month. …

"We are always looking for the book it is necessary to read next." --Saul Bellow I'm sure I'm not the only one out there who gave many a classic book a pass while growing up. Yet it turns out our teachers were right and there is a literary currency that these works provide. This group is your chance to sit down and finally read Anna Karenina, Don Quixote, Pride and Prejudice, the list goes on. The books can span any time period or country and will be decided based on everybody's suggestions. F …
