Join this group if you love or are interested in discussing our Constitution and Bill of Rights, and are sick of politics as usual. This group will provide the opportunity for discussing current events and political issues from a classical liberal / paleoconservative / constitutionalist / libertarian point of view, and to support local and national political candidates who hold those views. This meetup will also serve as a venue for Ron Paul supporters from all political backgrounds to organize …
ArtKlub is a group of friends who are local Northern Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, and Washington DC artists that meet weekly for fun, self-education and encouragement, and to obtain critiques and try vet new ideas. Sometimes we're pencil to paper, sometimes we're discussion and goofing off. We are there to create, inspire, and share. We help hold each other accountable to making deadlines for commissions, when asked to do so. This is not like book club, sipping tea and having intellectua …
This group is being started for women who live in the Kentlands , Gaithersburg or other areas and wish to meet other women who like to read women authors and make new friends. We will pick a book by a female author each month and meet to discuss it. Sometimes we may view movies that have been made from books and compare them to the book. This will be a chance to make this group what the members want it to be and to get an opportunity to get in on the beginning of the group as it forms.

Originally formed by supporters of Ron Paul, this book club is for friendship and polite discussion of works on libertarianism, Austrian economics, and related topics. We typically meet on the third Saturday of each month at 10:30 am. We do, however, make frequent adjustments depending on the schedules of our "regulars." Members typically host so locations vary according to who lives where. We are generally Md-based.

Meet up with others who practice authenticity, connectivity, and practice a truthful approach toward life and their emotions. Especially for those of us that have played Chameleon for most of or lives and know now that "I am enough!". If you've read the three books by Dr. Brene Brown, you'll zero in on this group. I find it difficult to find folks that feel secure enough with who they are to talk and kibbutz together, so I'm going to solve the situation. Let's just get together and chat, …

Tired of joining book clubs only to end up reading stacks of books that aren't your style?? Think outside the box and join us for something different! Each month, the group will pick a genre, not a book, for the upcoming month. You find a book in that genre that you want to read, then share that book with the group. Yes, everyone reads something different, but we discuss how our books each fit the genre and members get to hear about other books that they might want to read in the future. Possibl …

Perhaps you are a young lady or gentleman finding yourself in intellectual exile in our great state of WV and you want to discuss things in a "very civilized manner"...Then let's get together for books and cocktails at the Finer Things Club. Don't be misled by the name though, Philip Roth is just as welcome as Jane Austen! Look forward to meeting up!
We are the oxymoron to the geek and nerd stereotype - the "social" nerds and the "chic" geeks. Sure, we love Battlestar Galactica, but that doesn't mean we can't hold our own at a high class social function. Yes, we can debate the finer points of whether Han shot first, but we can also jump into the fray and talk about the latest in pop culture. Although we can explain the relation between a "Hobbit" and a "Halfling" to someone, it doesn't mean that we locked ourselves away from society and stud …

The Serious Jewish Book club has begun. Its general purpose is to read and discuss topics of Jewish interest with other thoughtful people. Its deeper purpose is to become more educated about a whole range of Jewish topics in the spirit of Socrates’ assertion that an unexamined life is not worth living. When we write “educated” we are not using this word to mean in its modern usage, trained or shaped. We rather hark back to its ancient etymology when it meant “to be led out of” as from the uncons …
This is a group for women over 40 who are interested in meeting and discussing a book of the month over a cup of coffee, glass of wine or a beer. This is a time for us to have a short break from our husbands, kids, pets, and all responsibilities--some "me" time to have enjoyable discussions about the book we've read as a group. I'm more interested in meeting out, but if others prefer, we can also meet at each others' homes (but that's more work!).
This is a group for anyone interested in learning and playing Jazz. We'll meet once a week at my home in our finished basement to get together to play and work on Jazz standards from the Real Book and any other tunes that members would like to try. We will set up in my finished basement. I play tenor sax. I do have a mobile Yamaha key board for use but that's about it for equipment. Also, I have the iBreal app to use for rhythm accompaniment with the Real Book. I don't have much in the way of li …
