If you go to or recently graduated from college and have moved to the city and have an interest in reading, enjoyed discussing books in class, or want to meet new people this is the book club for you. You don't need to have been an English major.
Meet with other book lovers once a month to discuss a chosen piece of literature (fiction, nonfiction, biography, contemporary, classic novels- depends on what we all vote on!) over drinks or a bite to eat. This is a great chance to meet other local people who share your love for books. Books will be chosen by the group, so feel free to recommend anything you are interested in reading.
Finally... a book club in Williamsburg! We decide on a new book every month- only after polling you, of course. After reading, we'll get together at a local Williamsburg haunt to discuss. Don't worry, we'll come prepared with questions so you won't have to stress over having nothing to say.
Meetup details are available only to members.
Hello, Our book club is open to all who share a specific interest in reading memoirs and would like to join us for brunch to discuss the current book. We limit each meeting to a small group (no more than 12 people) to so that everyone has a chance to get to know each other and to have a meaningful discussion of the memoir. In most cases, we choose memoirs that are available in paperback version and are available at the library. Please come to the brunch having already read the memoir so that yo …

SPIRITUAL PEOPLE FROM ALL BACKGROUNDS, COME JOIN US In our group... we read and seek to understand more fully the concepts portrayed in The Urantia Book (Urantia being another word for the Earth). The book is a collection of 196 papers that its authors say is a divine revelation to our planet. The revelators assert that they are non-physical beings, ranging from those divine in origin to those closer to the level of human beings, such as angels. How the papers came to be transmitted into writte …

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” ~Dr. Seuss I've tried joining a few book clubs that were genre specific (chick lit), gender specific (chicks only), and author specific (Stephen King) but as none seemed to satisfy my palate, I thought I'd try to see if there were others like me, i.e. those who can equally enjoy the likes of Jane Austen, Stephen King, Shakespeare,Neil Gaiman, Dean Koontz as well as nonfiction books (The …

That's right, we're a book club that doesn't even require you to read the book. Each meeting starts with a video or PDF presentation of the book's key concepts so you can learn everything you need to know just by attending the meeting. I decided to start the group because I cannot find a book club that assigns books that are more to my liking. So I am hoping to find other girls who will enjoy the type of books I love to read. I read both fiction and non fiction, but my main interest is stories that touch upon specific things: feminism, sexuality, mental health, etc. So join my group if you are looking to stay local in Brooklyn, like to drink and like to read.

Our discussions can last from five minutes to an hour and it really depends upon the book. We read primarily contemporary fiction, but we're open to anything. Some of ou …
