We brought our group to Meetup.com in April 2010, but we actually began our monthly book discussions in September 2009. We have been having our meetings the first Wednesday evening of every month, 7pm at Red Hook Coffee & Tea (765 S 4th St - between Fitzwater & Catharine in Queen Village). The meetings generally go no later than 9pm. We are casual and enthusiastic; our members enjoy reading and collectively choosing and discussing books on a monthly basis. We take turns selecting the books …

I know what you’re probably thinking, “Not another book club!” To that I say no, this is not your typical book club. The ‘Black Diamonds Book Club’ is a book club for black women who want to be encouraged, enlightened and inspired. Our focus is strictly on reading non-fiction/self-help and inspiration books and we'll get together monthly to share the valuable insights we’ve learned from each book and how we feel our selection has impacted us. This is a great opportunity to develop new friendship …

Each month we get together to discuss a noteworthy business book and how we can best apply the book's concepts to advance our businesses and achieve our goals. Our group is for women entrepreneurs, women business owners and women executives to connect with each other and share inspiration, insight and innovative ideas we can put into practice in our own businesses. We are a women-only group. We focus on business books written by women or co-authored by women (but occasionally we do throw in one …
Meet kindred book lovers in a local Meetup Book Club! We will take a look at a new book each month. I lean towards newer fiction, but we will see where the group wants to go! I started this group because I didn't see any groups in the area which catered to those of us in the western suburbs; from King of Prussia to Collegeville. Depending on make up of the group, we will meet along the 422 corridor between King of Prussia and Collegeville. There are a couple of excellent book clubs …

Hello Ladies, I thought it would be nice to organize a book club meetup group for women, that meet to discuss books by African American authors. I used to read all the time and thought that this would encourage me to get back in the groove. If you are over 35 years of age, like reading books by African American/Black authors, would like to discuss and hear other's perspectives on books and would like to meet in locations where we can have coffee, desert and or lunch, this meetup is for you. A …
The Group will meet once per month to discuss a topical business book, it's implications, and opportunities to implement ideas within each persons organization. This group is for those who love fantasy, supernatural and paranormal romance. Some of my favorites are Anne Rice, Charlaine Harris, Karen Moning, J.R. Ward. We will read and discuss a different novel. We can also discuss lore, legend and non-fiction as well. I'd like to kick off our inaugural meeting with a meet and greet. Please post your suggestions for what book you would like to read. We'll pick the top three and at our first meeting we'll vote on which book we'll read and plan to meet the …

As a former Southerner now living in Philadelphia, but increasingly feeling a call back to my Southern heritage, I am interested in started a book club that focuses solely on literature of the South, typically Southern authors. I will be honest, I've never beed in a book club before so if there is anyone who is interested in joining me, please know that we will be figuring out how to make the group work as we go along. Flexible in terms of frequency of meeting, whether we combine it with f …

My friends & I had a Chick Lit Book Club in NYC and it was so much fun! Think Jennifer Weiner, Emily Giffin, Sophie Kinsella, to name a few. Hoping to get one started in Philly! This Meetup will be meeting on the first Wednesday each month.
After several requests, we are starting our own book club here at The Spiral Bookcase! We will schedule monthly meetings, to be held at the shop, and read a variety of genres (as selected by myself and our members). Meet kindred book lovers in a local Meetup Book Club! Fiction or non-fiction, paperback or hardcover, you will read a new book every month. Come to laugh, share stories, and make new friends!
I enjoyed a wonderful meeting of The South Jersey Book Club, but the group is in Cherry Hill and it was a bit of a drive for me. I thought there must be some people who'd like to be part of a book club that meets in Gloucester County, so I decided to create one and see what happens.
Meet other bright individuals who want to engage in lively and thoughtful conversations about books and ideas. We will provide an inviting, casual, and relaxed atmosphere for people who want to discuss the concepts and themes stimulated by their reading. Book club members are encouraged to provide ideas for selections of future monthly readings, and may range from classic literature to contemporary novels, as well as works of nonfiction.
