In February of 2012, I moved to Nashville, excited of all the possibilities that a bigger city would bring. Eager of all the places I could go, all the friends I would meet, and all the fun times that were to be had in said places with said friends - none of it happened. More and more time went by that I still really had not made any new friends in Nashville. So, I looked to MeetUp.com to find a book club. As I am a mother of a newly 3 year old son - and I needed a place to escape to every so of …
For those of us who love to read the Young Adult genre and want to spend it with others and rant and rave or maybe even complain about the books we are reading or want to read. Age 20+. We are a group looking for the older lovers of this genre. As exciting as it sounds to sit around with a bunch of high school students or younger to talk about these books...I'm kidding. These books are a guilty pleasure for us for whatever reason. Whether we are getting lost in Jennifer Armentrout's cover models …

This group will read all six of Jane's books, The Jane Austen Book Club and books inspired by Jane and her books (like "Mr. Darcy Broke My Heart"). We can also watch some of the movie adaptations of the books. So, if you love Jane Austen or just want to read some classic English romance novels, this might be the group for you.

We will meet once a month and discuss one book per month. Books will be selected through a nomination and voting process, three months at a time. At the beginning of the month, questions will be provided to consider as you read. This is a great group of people, all of whom love to read and we look forward to meeting others with the same love of books! Don't live in Cane Ridge? You are still welcome!
Let's try to get a local book discussion group started! I would love to be part of a group that likes to read and discuss all types of books but most of the groups meet close to Atlanta and that's just too far to drive sometimes!

I teach M-Th and have many family obligations evenings and weekends. I would love to meet up with folks for a morning book club. We'll meet one Friday morning a month at an East Cobb restaurant for brunch and a book chat. Titles a bit more sophisticated than Harlequin Romances (not that there's anything wrong with that!) but not so complex and "heady" that your brain has to hurt while reading it. Members will be encouraged to take turns selecting books and restaurants.

Sometimes being a geek girl is a lonely experience. It's hard connect with other women when their staring at you funny because you're trying to explain your theory that the nature of a child's mutation stems partially from genetics as seen in Polaris and Magneto, but mostly from some sort of trauma before puberty, the time in which most mutants first exhibit abilities. Ex: Nightcrawler wanted to disappear because of his demonic appearance and he did. You flashed 'em a little bit of your geek and …

Dinner with a twist… “You know that scene in the deli from the movie When Harry Met Sally? That’s what I feel about food when it’s really good.” This quote, from Malcolm Gladwell’s novel Blink, is from a woman who is a professional food taster. How’s that for a dream job?! If you’re like me – single, 40+ and you enjoy cooking, learning and reading about food as much as you do eating it, then pull up a seat and join us at the dinner table, in the classroom, a book discussion - or anywhere else ou …
This meetup is about Spirituality NOT Religion! I promise you this... If you become wholly committed to awakening from the dream you have dreamt since the stars first began to appear in the heavens and if your one desire is to be only what God created, then lay at the altar of your heart with every breath, everything you think you know, everything you think you need, and look lovingly upon every place that fear has made a home in your mind, and allow correction to come. It will come. Regardless …

Metaphysics can be a priori speculation upon questions that are unanswerable to scientific observation, analysis, or experiment. This group is dedicated to learning more about various New Age and self-improvement topics. We are willing to believe that there may be phenomena not easily explained …
