Utah Comic Book Writers was created by Holly Guile and Mike Kimball in order to get help and insight in their own creative endeavors and to help like-minded people. There aren't any comic book writing groups or workshops locally or available online for a reasonable price. Mike and I wanted to get one going to educate ourselves in comic book creation from the writer's standpoint. A common misconception about comic book creating is that the writers have less responsibility, since the final product …
I'm a stay-at-home mom who would rather discuss sasquatch, alternative medicine, and the (non?) existence of god than soccer and potty training. This group is for any skeptical-type people willing to read one skeptical or science-themed book a month (ranging from serious to silly--I'm open to suggestions all over the spectrum) and discuss it over snacks and drinks. We'll each have to buy our own books, 'cause the library book group selections weren't chosen for non-fiction readers.
I love to read and I love people! We're hoping to make this a fun book club......no religion, no politics and just meet new friends and enjoy each others company, while maybe reading something we might not have picked up ourselves. I think we all can get stuck and tend to read the same type things. I'm hoping that everyone will come with great ideas and we'll choose some really interesting, mind blowing books! Please come and give a try! I think you'll like us. I know I did the first time I came …
"We Might Be Literary Giants" is a book club consisting of diverse, fun thinkers who love to make new friends and share their insights. Our catalyst is literature that presents a message - yet is still an engaging read. If you are colorful, tolerant, and opinionated...you are one of us!

Talking, being listened to, and listening are states of being on which intelligent people thrive. Over a meal and maybe a glass of wine, things get even better. Today I read Roger Ebert's essay "I do not fear death", finished about a third of Stephen King's memoir "On Writing" and continued to ponder my most recent read "Tom's River" and thought how much fun it would to get together a group of thinkers and talkers (and listeners of course) because after all communication clarifies thought.

“In 1816 Mary and Percy Bysshe Shelley visited Lord Byron at his villa in Switzerland. Among other subjects, the conversation turned to the feasibility of returning a corpse or assembled body parts to life. Sitting around a log fire at Byron's villa, the company also amused themselves by reading German ghost stories, prompting Byron to suggest they each write their own supernatural tale. Mary Shelley conceived the idea for Frankenstein and Lord Byron managed to write a short fragment based on va …

This meetup is for people who would like to learn more about the constitution and principles of Liberty. We will also discuss the Communist Manifesto since the 10 planks to Communism are all in place in the United States with the last one being the establishment of a national health care system. Classes will be based on the announced book so that members can read for themselves and join in the discussions.

Our family of 4 have been camping for years and have had some choice memories. There are hundreds of different places to camp and hike around Utah that most residents never experience. We have hiked a lot of these and have some amazing places that we would love to share with you! With newer technology you can camp year round with your kids and have an enjoyable time. We usually do Central and Southern Utah in the fall, spring and winter months and Northern Utah in the summer months. You don't h …

Calling all foodies in U.C. - Vicarious Gourmet is a place where we can get together and enjoy what we love most: tongue-meltingly delicious food. But there's an even larger purpose than that. Through interactions with other foodies and food experts from all over the county, we can increase our own "gourmet I.Q." Your palate will grow as you try new foods and seasoning combinations, and your recipe book will always have a backlog of new ideas to try. Together with our own exclusive Vica …

Four part A Capella harmony. It only takes 4 people to obtain, the awesomeness. The former lds hymn books has many now lost protestant hymns. And there are countless other materials. I find the bass part easy to sight read, .... but over the years, .... picking out the tenor part, as best I can, ..... has been most enjoyable.
